Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has taken a series of measures to reduce the intensity of the card centers in Istanbul. The number of application centers will double by the end of October.

IMM is opening new centers to reduce the density in Istanbul card centers, where Istanbul residents, who benefit from public transportation vehicles at a discount and free of charge, apply. In the first stage, between 23-28 September, Esenler, Eyüp, Çekmeköy, Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Ümraniye Haldun Alagaş White Table points will start to serve as Istanbul Card Center. The application centers will be increased from 23 to 42 by the end of October. In this process, the number of centers will be increased up to 50 in case of need arising from demand.

İBB, not being satisfied with the measure to increase the number of centers, extended the working hours from 17:30 until 19:00 until the density in Istanbulkart application centers was eliminated.

Increasing Demand for Istanbulkart

After the decision to reduce the subscription price, which is 85 TL for students, to 40 TL, the increase in new card printing requests is one of the reasons for the density in the centers. Another reason is the “visa” procedures for the students who cannot win the university to use a discount card for another year.
Attention to Application Hours

Considering both of these reasons, IMM made the following suggestions to card users. In Istanbulkart Centers, the work starts at 08.30 in order to provide quality service. It is observed that the application centers are more crowded between 13.00-19.00 in the afternoon. It is also recommended to apply to the centers between 08.30:13.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX in order to prevent the density. Also, applications can be found on the internet (https://www.istanbulkart.istanbul). Application of card users in this way will save both time and effort for themselves.

Another important warning is about the cards themselves. The discount on the subscription fee does not require a new card to be purchased. Students can benefit from the discount with their existing cards. This process removes the reason for going to Istanbulkart centers. Students can do 40 TL subscription filling from the filling points in the whole city.
