The Public and Lighting Sector will meet at the IstanbulLight Fair to discuss opportunities and expectations for energy efficiency. In line with the energy efficiency target of the public, especially in the case of implementing LED change-oriented and smart city projects; it is estimated that the market will grow on average 15 per year, and that the size of the domestic market will reach 2023 billion dollars in 3,89.

75 percent of the energy used in our country is imported from abroad and energy imports constitute the biggest item of the current account deficit with average 50-55 billion dollars. Therefore, the effective use of lighting systems in energy efficiency, which has become increasingly important in recent years and which is among our strategic goals as a country, is at a critical point.

Although the share of lighting in energy consumption varies depending on the area of ​​application, today 10 percent in industrial plants and 40 percent in offices are distributed. This makes the focus of hundreds of thousands of buildings such as hospitals, universities, schools, dormitories, airports and courthouses managed by the public sector in energy efficiency. The policies to be implemented by the public in line with the energy efficiency target provide a significant growth potential for the domestic market of electrical lighting equipment as well as sustainability.

With this growth, the size of the domestic market is expected to reach 2023 billion dollars in 3,12. According to another scenario, it is assumed that the public has set aggressive targets in line with the energy efficiency target and especially implemented smart city projects focused on LED change; it is estimated that the market will grow on average 15 per year, and that the size of the domestic market will reach 2023 billion dollars in 3,89.
