Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality held a Rail Systems Workshop in which broad participation from academicians to sector representatives was provided. The workshop focused on the work done to date on the rail systems in Istanbul and the steps to be taken thereafter.

2019 Rail Systems Workshop was hosted by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. İBB Rail Systems Department by Prof.Dr. Dr. The road map for Istanbul was determined with the participation of academics, sector representatives and stakeholders in the workshop held at Adem Baştürk Cultural Center. The workshop, which took place in the 3 session and determined the steps to be taken on rail systems, focused on the main topics such as planning and technological development in rail systems.

Consensus on “locality”

In his statement after the workshop, Deputy Secretary General of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Orhan Demir gave the following information: This will provide standardization in a sense. We have different wagons and different mechanical systems in different lines. It is very important to bring these together to a standard. Here, the cooperation of the university, the industrialist and us gains importance. We have learned that we must ensure this cooperation. ”

“We will determine our road map”

IMM Head of Rail Systems Assoc. Dr. Pelin Alpkökin also examined the works done to date in the workshop and said that they exchanged ideas about what should be done from now on. Pelin Alpkökin; “With the ideas we receive from the participants, we will determine our next roadmap. In fact, this is the scope of today's fast workshop. ”

In the workshop; Metro Istanbul Control and Consultancy Services Manager Fatih Gültekin also made a presentation and informed the participants about Metro İstanbul operation.
