The Walter company undertook the project with a build-operate-transfer model and sought credit for starting the project after the groundbreaking ceremony. However, the project could not be started when the loan requested by foreign and domestic banks could not be obtained. After a long wait last April, Kocaeli Governor Hüseyin Aksoy and Kartepe Mayor Mustafa Kocaman invited the management of the company to the city to undertake the construction of the project. Company managers came to the city and met with Governor Aksoy and Mayor Kocaman and asked for 3 months for them to start the project.
TENDER ONE SIDED TERMINATED
The company management could not start the project within three months. After the expiry of the term, President Mustafa Kocaman, announced that the tender unilaterally terminated. Speaking to our newspaper, Kocaman said, “It is sad and unfortunate that the 50 annual dream of the city has come to this situation. We showed very good intentions and conveniences so that the company started to work. Despite all our good intentions, the firm did not keep its promises. We decided and unilaterally terminated the contract. In the coming period, we put our plan B into operation and we will surely realize the 50 annual dream of ropeway project of the city ”. The tender for the ropeway project will now be held in the coming days.
100 MILLION WILL BE COST
