İzmir Metro A.Ş., which participated in the Mahir Eller Project carried out within the European Union and was entitled to receive a professional qualification certificate. employees were presented their certificates at a ceremony held at EBSO. The ceremony was marked by female subway and tram drivers of Izmir.

Professional qualification certificates were given to the employees who participated in the “Mahir Eller Project” carried out in cooperation with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, with a ceremony. Within the scope of the project, İzmir Metro A.Ş., which succeeded to be the first institution whose personnel were certified in the occupational groups of "Urban Rail Systems Catenary Maintenance Staff" and "Urban Rail Systems Traffic Controller". It also achieved the title of being the institution with the highest number of female driver personnel within the scope of the project. Izmir Metro A.S. 69 personnel from the three occupational groups within its body were also awarded the vocational qualification certificate. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the ceremony held at the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) in İzmir. Tunç Soyer, Izmir Governor Erol Ayyıldız, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended.

A great honor
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who made a speech at the document presentation ceremony Tunç Soyerpointed out that 20 of the 14 train drivers who were successful as a result of the exams were women. Mayor Soyer said, “This is a great honor for both our Izmir and our municipality. Because, with this project, İzmir became the province with the highest number of certified female train drivers in Turkey. When we set out, we used the motto 'Mother Municipality' and said that we would touch every place in İzmir, from its neighborhoods to its streets, from its countryside to its fields, with mother's compassion. We have stated that we will base all our work on gender equality. In this respect, it is a great honor for us to see the success of female train drivers and the fact that İzmir is once again a leading city in this regard.”
