Ukrainian Railways Ukrzaliznytsia, which plans two increases in ticket prices in 2019, once again announced the need to increase tariffs for passenger transport.
Ukrzaliznytsia president Yevgeni Kravtsov said that the activities of Ukrzaliznytsia are not profitable at the moment and that the government will apply to allow the ticket prices to be increased to meet the transportation costs.
Kravtsov said the “Ukrzaliznytsia” fleet should be expanded and ensured that the company's activities are not under the cost ”. He added that the fleet should be increased by 15-20 in order to meet the need especially during peak periods.
