Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council decided to provide free public transport services in Istanbul on Monday, September 30, when schools will be opened with the Eid al-Adha, 9 August Victory Day.

In line with the joint proposal of the CHP and AK Party groups, it was approved to provide free public transport services between 11:14 and 30:9 on Monday, September 2019, 06, on the Eid al-Adha (00-14 August), 00 August Victory Day and the schools will be opened. The decision was taken unanimously by the councilors.
In line with the decision, all public transport included in the Istanbulkart integration will be able to board passengers by swiping their card free of charge. It will be available on the Tram, Metro, Funicular, Tunnel and Cable Car lines managed by Metro Istanbul.
All fees will be met from the budget of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Nowadays, there will be additional flights to public transportation.
