Kerem Yıldırım, a first year mechanical engineering student at Özyeğin University, designed the electric skateboard, which he had dreamed of since his childhood, in his dorm room and produced in the university laboratories through three-dimensional printers. Kerem Yildirim, who decided to produce his own electric skateboard due to the high cost of similar skateboards abroad, is dreaming of finding an investor and launching these and similar projects and launching new projects.

Yildirim, who developed a special wheel system developed by Özyeğin University's laboratories and produced a three-dimensional printer on the skateboard that he brought from abroad, developed an electric skateboard that can travel uninterruptedly with 15 km for one hour. Yildirim states that this capacity can be increased and the range can be increased even more with the additional battery.

Kerem Yıldırım, who can control the electric motor of the skateboard with a special control in his hand, can also adjust the speed of the electric skateboard according to the road and ground conditions. The average speed of the skateboard produced by mechanical engineering student Kerem Yıldırım is currently 25 km / h.

Kerem Yildirim said that he was interested in skateboards since his childhood and said, hep I always thought why not a skateboard. When I started university, I turned this into a project and started to work for my first prototype in my dorm room. I brought some components from abroad for not exist in Turkey, but did produce the most important parts in the lab from Özyeğin University openfab for design. When designing've changed some parts of the property and places of considering the soil conditions in Turkey. Compared to the one-to-one skateboards, the cost has cost approximately half of their foreign counterparts. ”
