New Underpass Work Starts on Kuruçeşme Tram Line

Construction of a new underpass to the Mevlana Junction to start the tramway to the Beach Road

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to provide services that will breathe and bring comfort to transportation throughout the city. Metropolitan teams continue to work in the section of the Akçaray Tram Line that will be extended to the Kuruçeşme region. In this context, the construction of the new culvert on the tram line was started. Sekapark - Izmit D - 100 Highway under the Mevlana Junction will be built under the new subway will pass through the tram vehicles will pass to the Beach Road area.

NEW UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION STARTED
In the second part of the work, the existing underpass on the south side of Mevlana Junction is destroyed for the Akçaray Tram line, which will continue to the Beach Road from the Education Campus region, and a new underpass is being built. The new underpass, built to the size of Akçaray trams, will be 18 meters long, 4,8 meters high and 9 and a half meters wide. In the new underpass, 920 cubic meters of ready-mixed concrete, 170 tons of ribbed reinforcing steel, thousand square meters of parquet, 2 thousand 500 meter curb and 500 meter auto railing will be produced. Underpass work is currently producing culvert foundation iron reinforcement.

NEW ROAD ARRANGEMENT
Next to the tram route, a new road arrangement will be made in order to provide the existing traffic transfer. Mevlana bridge and connecting roads on the junction arrangement, rain water line and asphalt renewal will be made. 6 thousand 100 tons of asphalt paving and 450 meter stormwater line will be constructed within the scope of the works.

SECOND SECTION OF SEKAPARK - KURUÇEŞME LINE
The 2 thousand 140 meter long rail system line between Sekapark - Beach Road contains 4 stations in total. A total of 8 thousand 640 meters long and 500 tons of corrugated rails are produced along the line. In the second part, the displacement of the infrastructure lines and the construction of new lines, the construction of the new underpass, the construction of 650 meters long side road, the pavement along the tram line, the station structures, line-road lighting and traffic signalization will be carried out. The first part between Sekapark - Education Campus in Sekapark - Kuruçeşme Tram Line was completed before and offered to the citizens. In the second part, while the ground filling works continue on the line where the rails will be laid, the production of the rail welding will be started very soon.
