Ali İhsan Uygun, General Manager of TCDD, was elected as Vice President of International Railways Association (UIC) and this time he was elected as the President of UIC-RAME (Middle East Regional Board).
UIC's 23.RAME Meeting was held on July 5 in the city of Aqaba, Jordan, hosted by the ARC-Aqaba Railway Company.
TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun was unanimously elected RAME President for the 2019-2020 term.
In addition to TCDD, RAI (Iranian Railway Authority), ARC (Aqaba Railway Company), JHR (Jordan Hijaz Railways), SHR (Syrian Hijaz Railways) and MDA (Maan Development Company) General Managers and UIC Honorary General Manager Jean Pierre Loubinoux, UIC's new General Manager François Davenne, Regional Coordinator Jerzy Wisniewski and UIC RAME Office officials participated.
At the meeting; Evaluation of the activities to be realized in the second half of 2019, negotiation of 2019 / 20 RAME Action Plan and 2040 Vision, introduction of “Global Vision of Railway Developments II Haziran updated in June, financial issues and budget of Middle East Regional Board, recent developments in RAME member countries agenda topics were discussed. In addition, the UIC Middle East Railway Training Center (MERTCe) in Ankara, which carries out railway training activities within TCDD, will carry out activities that will meet the training needs of the member countries of the region.
