The project, which received approval from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments on December 28, 2017, is waiting for the approval of the Ministry of Development, now known as the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, to be included in the investment program. Since the approval of the ministry is required for investments to be made with international credits, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality cannot go out to tender until this "acceptance" is received from Ankara. Approval process delayed, costs increased
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality also responded to the claims that there were errors in the feasibility report prepared for the Buca Metro project. In a report prepared in a project prepared with the exchange rate and inflation rate two years ago, it is natural that the values ​​such as vehicle unit cost and average ticket fare do not match with today's figures, “The exchange rate determined when the projects were submitted for approval was revised by the Strategy and Budget Directorate at the beginning of the 2018. Does not exceed construction cost per kilometer
The officials of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality made the following explanation, stating that the claims regarding the construction cost per kilometer and the daily travel forecast were not correct, said: “When the necessary permission could not be obtained from the Rector's Office of the Dokuz Eylül University for the land designated as a storage area at the beginning of the project, Another land was found near the garage, so the length of the line increased by 6 kilometers to 19,3 kilometers. All of our line and station projects, including our warehouse area projects, have been revised in this context and submitted to the Ministry for approval. It will be seen that the amount, which is formed by dividing the total cost by 19,3 kilometers, does not exceed the average cost of construction (45 million dollars) per kilometer of subway constructions. Our prediction of '319.404 daily trip' pertaining to the Buca Metro line is based on the Izmir Transportation Master Plan and the transportation survey report prepared as a result of our work in the field and is realistic. ”

11 station will
Buca Metro, which will be 13,5 kilometers long and will consist of 11 stations, will serve between Üçyol Station-Dokuz Eylül University Tınaztepe Campus-Çamlıkule. The line, starting from Üçyol and consisting of 11 stations, will include Zafertepe, Bozyaka, General Asım Gündüz, Şirinyer, Buca Municipality, Butchers, Hasanağa Garden, Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Koop and Çamlıkule stations. The Buca line will meet at Üçyol Station with the second stage line running between F. Altay-Bornova, and the İZBAN line at Şirinyer Station. Train sets on this line will provide driverless service.

To be done with deep tunnel technique
Buca Subway will be constructed by using deep tunnel technique (TBM / NATM) by using TBM machine and thus, traffic, social life and infrastructure problems that may occur during tunnel construction will be minimized.

In the project, Maintenance Workshop and Warehouse Building, which is designed to have a total closed area of ​​80 thousand m2, will also be constructed. In this two-storey building, the lower floor will be used as overnight stay and the upper floor will be used as vehicle maintenance and repair floor. On the upper floor there will also be administrative offices and personnel areas.
