IMM Increases Public Transportation Subsidy Rates

At the first meeting of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly in June, the public transportation vehicles, Private Public Buses and Istanbul Otobüs A.Ş. It was decided to increase the amount of subsidies paid to buses. The proposal of the AK Party group to the IMM Assembly was accepted unanimously by the members of the parliament.

The June meeting of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council was held today. The IMM Assembly decided to increase the “subsidized” (Support) rates with the proposal of the AK Party group. With the decision taken, the Sea Public Transport Vehicles (excluding City Lines) included in the fee integration, Private Public Buses and Istanbul Bus Inc. The amount of subsidies paid to their buses has been increased. The proposal submitted by the AK Party group to the IMM Assembly was accepted unanimously. In this way, tradesmen who are engaged in private transportation will receive a 22,5 penny hike for the single pass of each discounted and free passenger.

In the report that came to the agenda of the Assembly; “Since the numbers corresponding to the cost coverage rates, personnel, depreciation and other fixed and variable expenses increased, the operators engaged in transportation also increased the cost of the Sea Public Transportation Vehicles (excluding City Lines), Private Public Buses and Istanbul Bus A.Ş. "The amount of subsidies paid to their buses has been increased."

NEW SUBSTANCES RATES
In the report, it is stated that buses operating in transportation activities are divided into four groups according to the cost coverage ratio;
- 70 cents per pass for vehicles with cost coverage rates of 92,5% and below,
- 70 cents per pass for vehicles with cost coverage rates between 80% and 87,5%,
- 70 cents per pass for vehicles with cost coverage rates between 90% and 82,5%,
- For vehicles with a cost coverage rate of 90% or more, it was decided to pay 77,5 cents per pass.

Regarding the report, AK Party İBB Group SözcüSü Faruk Gökkuş and CHP İBB Group SözcüSü Tarık Balyalı expressed their views.

After the speeches, İBB Assembly First Deputy Göksel Gümüşdağ submitted the report to the vote. The report was accepted unanimously by members of the council. For vehicles classified according to their costs, the subsidy rates for each pass have been raised by 1 cents, effective from June 30. This situation will continue until 22.5 December.
