The test drives of the Konya-Karaman section, which is the first phase of the Konya-Karaman-Mersin high speed line that will connect Central Anatolia to the Mediterranean Region, are planned to start at the end of the year.

“Travel time 40 minutes between two cities”

Within the scope of the rapid railway projects under construction, the journey time between the two cities, 200 km Konya-Karaman railway line, which has been made suitable for 102 kilometers per hour, with double lines, electrical and signaling, will decrease from 1 hour 13 minutes to 40 minutes.

Infrastructure / superstructure works have been completed and electrification and signaling works are underway in Konya-Karaman high-speed rail line, as well as passenger transport freight transport will be done.

Test drives are planned to start at the end of the year, and even two million passengers are expected to travel annually.

On the other hand, with the commissioning of the Karaman-Mersin (Yenice) section of the railway line, a shorter and faster transportation corridor will be established between Mersin and Konya and Ankara. Mersin, an important city in freight transportation and logistics activities, will gain more value.

“High speed train will extend to Southeast”

The line, which is integrated with high-speed railway lines, will significantly shorten the transportation between Marmara, Central Anatolia, Aegean and Mediterranean and Southeast regions.

Karaman-Eregli-Ulukisla-Yenice high-speed railway line that constitutes the southern corridor of Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Kahramanmaras-Gaziantep-Sanliurfa high-speed rail projects will be integrated with the rapid and convenient access to the Southeast will be possible.
