Stating that our citizens, who lost their children, parents, siblings, and spouses, feel the pain they experience in their hearts, President Sarıkurt said, “There is no word or meaning to be said for our 8 citizens who lost their lives in the train accident on July 2018, 25. On July 8, 2018, we are still experiencing the pain of my pain caused by the inability of those responsible to fulfill their duties in our hearts. At the end of the 1 year that passes today, the legal struggle of our citizens, who lost their relatives in the accident, still continues. Whatever is necessary for the rights, law and justice of our citizens who have lost their lives, real responsible people must be revealed and account for justice.
We should never forget this accident, neglected people, missing works and above all our lost lives. As Çorlu Municipality, we approached the end of our study in order to keep the memories of our lives lost after the accident and to immortalize their memories.
In this context, we immortalize our pain losses by monumentalizing the date of 8 July 2018 and the train accident. The monument, designed by our Çorlulu sculptor Ersin Alyakut and will be built on a 5 m² pedestal, will be 7 meters high, the upper part will be 1 meter wide and the lower part will be approximately 2.5 meters. There will be 25 flowers symbolizing our citizen who died in a train accident in the lower base of the monument, which will be constructed in the memorial forest of Sarılar Neighborhood Memorial Forest, and the bird figure rising to the sky in the upper base. ” said.
In the area where environmental regulations continue, the works will be completed in a short time and the opening ceremony of the monument will be held on July 8.
