Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank announced that the domestic car prototype will be ready by the end of this year and that the domestic car will be on the road in 2022. Minister stating that Turkey continues the work of a joint venture group that came together to produce the domestic automobile Varank, noted that the project would lead to changes in all sectors. R & D activities were accelerated in order to produce the steel qualities required by the automotive sector.
KARDEMİR General Manager Hüseyin Soykan stated the following in his assessment;
Ir As it is known, our company focuses on high value added products in production and offers steel grades to different sectors. We produce very different steel grades for the machine manufacturing sector. In addition, we created a working group within our company to produce the steel qualities required by the defense industry. We are continuing our negotiations with many organizations in the sector and we want to contribute to the increase in the share of the region in this area by producing steel for our defense industry.
Our Republic 100. One of the most important targets of the year is the production of domestic automobiles. In recent years, the automotive industry has become the biggest exporter sector of our country. It is a strategic target for us to integrate our company with the Republic with our automotive industry and become a good supplier. For this reason, we have formed a working group in our company within the automotive industry such as the defense industry. Our R & D Directorate is working on what we can do in Kardemir in order to produce which products we can supply to the automotive industry with our existing infrastructure and product variety and to produce steel products to be used in the current and future projects of our automotive industry.
Currently, medium and high carbon steel grades suitable for forging and cold forming are being offered to our automotive supplier industry in rod and coil form for use in various transfer elements and parts manufacturing. The development of the product related to the production of coil and pig rods is carried out together with the leading companies in the sector. Our product development activities in the high-carbon quality group used in the production of automotive rubber wire are being carried out together with a global manufacturer in our country. In the upcoming period, high silica added steel qualities suitable for suspension spring production will be offered to the automotive industry in the form of a coil.
Our Minister of Industry and Technology announced that the domestic car will be in the streets in 2022, R & D activities are continuing in this regard and the project will transform all sectors.
