This railway will provide a transportation link with Belarus in the eastern part of the country, at the Siemianówka border station.

The contract consists of two parts

One of them is the modernization of state boundaries: the Chryzanów department, which is a jointly funded project of the Regional Operational Program of Podlaskie Voivodeship, worth 69 million PLN (16.14 million Euros).

The second part envisages the reconstruction of the part of Siemianówka - Swisłocz, which is fully funded from the state budget and is also about 69 million PLN (16.14 million Euros).

“The investments in the border gate in the Siemianówka region will improve the regional economy and increase the role of the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland's transport map.

Modern 6 bridges and 13 engineering structure will be modernized, which will become safer with modern traffic control devices. The control center at Siemianówka station will be rebuilt and equipped with modern digital devices.
