In the nine wagons that were knocked down as a passenger train derailed in the eastern part of Bihar, east of India, 7 people died and 29 people were injured. Two of the injured were reported to have a severe condition. While the cause of the crashed train was not yet known, the Indian press claimed that one of the tracks was broken.
The Indian rail network is the third longest transportation route in the world, but lacks lines of signaling and communication systems. Therefore, frequent train accidents occur in the country.
In 2016, in Uttar Pradesh state, one of the biggest train accidents in India, 14 wagons of the train were derailed and 127 people were killed.
