5 million trees will be planted for 5 thousand hectares in 10 years for Istanbul Airport. İGA company, which makes the airport, will be afforested in Istanbul, Edirne, Sakarya, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Eskişehir, İzmir and Konya, and 50 thousand trees will be planted in 80 hectare area in Çatalca. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Cahit Turhan said, “The main target is the first step of 5 thousand hectares of afforestation project in 5 years. The number of trees is expected to reach 5-10 million. ”

Green field works carried out within the scope of Istanbul Airport construction were brought to the agenda of the Assembly.
