Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has accelerated metro investments which are safe, fast and convenient transportation for Istanbulites. Considering the projects under construction and in the tender process, 2023 aims to establish an 624,65 kilometer rail network. But the final goal is; reach the total 1.100 mileage network.
The length of the rail system lines in Istanbul was 2004 kilometers before 45,04. This length increased to 2004 kilometers between 2018 and 170,05. With intensive studies, the length of the line is aimed to reach 2018 kilometers between 2023 and 624,65, and to 2023 kilometers after 1,100.
A total of 2 new metro lines will be put into service in 20 years in Istanbul. 6 of these subways are planned to be put into service in 2019 and 12 of them in 2020.
