Regarding the high-speed train accident in Ankara, CHP Izmir Deputy Atila Sertel said, “If the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, General Manager of TCDD and other concerned people are not removed from their duties, this railway road accident will also be covered and the calculation of lost lives will not be questioned.” said.

Sertel stated at the press conference that he held with the parliamentarians of the CHP in Parliament that the mistakes and faults of TCDD in the field of transportation and the causes of the accidents were discussed last week.

Stating that they were faced with a sad high-speed train accident in Ankara after a few days of the talks, which were also reflected in the reports of the Court of Accounts, Sertel suggested that their criticism was not prevented by the ruling party deputies at the commission meeting as well as their speeches.

In the Commission, they saw that they saw a call for possible accidents to be wasted by the accident, Sertel said:

"Every day in Turkey with a fast train 25 thousand of our citizens are traveling. This number will increase even more with the start of Ankara-İzmir flights. We have a railway network of 11 thousand 527 kilometers, 12 thousand 740 of which are conventional. More than half of the total rail network does not have a signaling system. It is never possible to think of a transportation related to the person, an accident-prone system due to the person's fault. The absence of a signaling system in a place like Ankara and continuing this way is inexcusable. ”

Stating that TCDD was not paid for 2019 and the ongoing investments were stopped, Sertel emphasized that it is extremely important to support the investments to be made by TCDD in the field of transportation.

Claiming that TCDD employees are unhappy, machinists work for 15-16 hours, and those who change points for 14-15 hours, Sertel stated that they saw a "dead" TCDD with unhappy employees.

Claiming that the accident related to the incident was attempted on several people, Sertel said:

“The General Manager of TCDD had also blamed the crime regarding the accident in Çorlu in the KIT Commission. 25 of our citizens died in the accident that occurred in that region when the rails were unloaded, and 9 of our citizens died in Ankara. A minister who can say 'if there is no signaling' should resign immediately. An engineer, who found that he had committed a defect during the construction of the Osman Gazi Bridge, was killed by doing the harakiri. The issue is the question of ethical morality. If the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, General Manager of TCDD and other concerned people are not removed from their duties, this railway road crash will also be covered and the calculation of lost lives will not be questioned. ”
