Minister Turhan: We Included Dörtyol Hassa Road in the Investment Program

Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, said, "We have included the Dörtyol-Hassa road into the investment program, which will pass the Amanos Mountains through a tunnel of approximately 20 kilometers and connect the Dörtyolu to Hassa Kırıkhan road and connect the İskenderun Port to the Southeastern Anatolia Region by the shortest route." Turhan, at a press conference held in a hotel, said that Hatay has maintained its position as a trade center throughout history.

Referring to the investments made in the city, Turhan said, “In 16 years, our governments made an investment of 3,5 billion for the transportation and communication of the beauty of the world Hatay. With every penny of these investments, we made the roads of Hatay, renewed airports, railways, built our ports, laid communication highways. We developed and expanded Hatay. ” said.

Turhan stated that the divided road to Hatay reached 484 kilometers.

Giving information about the details of the road services to the districts, Turhan said that they have fixed the standard of the Hamam Junction Afrin road and that they will complete these works in 2019.

"We have also taken the Dörtyol-Hassa road, which will connect Dörtyol to the Hassa-Kırıkhan road and connect the İskenderun Port to the Southeastern Anatolia Region, by passing through the Amanos Mountains with a 20-kilometer tunnel," he said. He gave the good news that the works will be started by making the tender with the method of build, operate and transfer.

Within the scope of this project, 19 240 4 4 tunnel, a viaduct and XNUMX bridges will be recorded, said Turhan.

“Route plans and intersections have been approved, we will complete the EIA process and start the works by tender with the method of build, operate and transfer. Of course, I want to focus on this project. As you know, one of the ports with the most intense sea traffic in our country is our Iskenderun Port. There is a busy industrial campus around our Iskenderun Port. When you want to use this port especially as a transportation system that will serve the Southeastern Anatolia Region, the Middle East, South Asia or even, the logistics centers around this port are currently not able to build around the existing port. As I mentioned, the area is full of settlements, full of industrial facilities, and we will allow us to develop, develop and use our region and Hatay as a transfer station with the logistic tops we will create in the Hassa region by making Dörtyol, Hassa road. ”

Turhan, who stated that they will make Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman also a port owner through this road, stated that the transportation will be shortened by 60 kilometers when this transportation system is put into service according to the current service road.
