In İzmir's inner city suburban system İZBAN, İzmir Suburban System Inc. offered the workers a 19.43 percent increase in the last. A voting was held yesterday in İZBAN, where 342 workers work. 320 workers refused the employer's offer. Thus, a strike starts at 10:05 on Monday, December 00, in İZBAN.

The Izmir Branch of the Railway Workers Union announced that they would go on strike by not accepting the 19,43 percent raise offer of Izmir Suburban System Inc. (IZBAN). Hüseyin Ervüz, Head of the Izmir Branch of Railway-Is, said that after the raise offer, which the İZBAN administration sent them by phone last night, they held a vote in the union room at Alsancak Station to ask the union members for their decisions. Thus, the strike, which was announced to begin on Monday, December 10, became definite.

Stating that they decided to strike at 10:05 on Monday, December 00, because they could not agree on the Collective Agreement process with the management of İzmir Suburban System, Ervüz said, “We requested a 28 percent increase in our bare wages from İZBAN management. Our employer offered an average raise of 19,43 percent, including social benefits and bonuses. We request from our employer to increase the bonuses from 85 days to 112 days. 7 out of 18.30 İZBAN employees participated in the voting process that started at 342 o'clock and ended at 326, and 320 employees cast a rejection vote, only 6 of our friends accepted it. With this result, we regretfully declare that we will not run the trains on Monday unless there is a new development.

Pointing out that thousands of Izmirians will be victims due to going on strike, Ervüz said, “İZBAN has 269 daily trips and 300 thousand passengers. Unfortunately, our citizens in Izmir will be deprived of this service. Citizens may get angry with us, but we want to say to our citizens in Izmir; We have no other weapon to fight and get our rights. That's why we want them to forgive us. ”

Emphasizing that the table laid out is a strike and that no train will operate, Ervüz said, “When we divide the number of daily passengers according to the number of flights, there are one thousand 3 passengers per time. While we are carrying one thousand people with a set of four with İZBAN, at least 20 buses are required to carry one thousand people. Considering that it is 300 thousand per day, nearly a thousand vehicles should go to the highway. This will cause traffic pollution on the one hand and exhaust pollution on the other. ”

Ervüz, who used the game, said that the employees of İZBAN were looking for their rights and their struggles would continue.
