Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Turkey and Azerbaijan jointly, the wagons will be used in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line will be produced has announced it will establish a joint workshop.
Turhan met with the President of Azerbaijan State Railways Cavid Gurbanov in Baku, where he came to meet.
Speaking to the members of the press after the meeting, Turhan stated that they discussed the works to be done with Gurbanov and the facilitators about the operators in order to provide better service to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway Turhan said the large investment made, not only here in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey not to carry the burden of all the neighboring countries also expressed their views.
Turhan said, “Previously, our technical teams came and made on-site inspections. Now set up a workshop in Azerbaijan as Azerbaijan and Turkey will produce this joint will be operated even within the boxcar. Project work is about to be completed. Factory sites to be manufactured were determined. We will start production immediately by establishing the workshops. ” He spoke in the form.
With the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, Turhan reminded that only freight transport is currently being provided and that the passenger transportation service will start in the following years.
Turhan stated that the line would provide significant transportation savings to the users and added that this would be reflected in consumer prices.
Turhan added that the preliminary study for the Kars-Iğdır-Nakhchivan Railway Project was continuing.
