International Transport and Logistics Service Providers Association (UTIKAD), creation and development of the logistics culture in Turkey continues to support the objective of logistics education. FIATA Diploma Education, organized by UTİKAD with the support of Istanbul Technical University Continuing Education Center (ITUSEM), continues with field visits where practical applications are examined on-site, as well as the courses held at ITU Faculty of Business Administration.

In FIATA Diploma Education, participants made the first field visit of the new period. During the field visit to Marport Port Operations, the participants had the opportunity to see the cargo handling process on site after the field inspection.

The fourth edition of the FIATA Diploma Training, which was held this year, began on 6 October 2018. Within the scope of the 290 hour-long training, each mode of transport is processed with separate modules. Participants who take theoretical courses from sector managers and academicians also have the chance to have experience with field visits.

FIATA Diploma Training participants made their first field visit to the Marport Port Operations on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Marport Port Trip started within the scope of the "Sea Transport Operations" module of FIATA Diploma Training given by Mehmet Yavuz Kankavi, started with the presentation of Fatih Yılmazkarasu, Marport Port Operations Trade and Customer Relations Manager. In the presentation held in the meeting room, Yılmazkarasu answered the questions coming from the participants by talking about Marport's port settlement, activities, wharves and the expansion of the port area. Following the presentation about the port, Marport Port Operations Trade and Customer Relations Manager Fatih Yılmazkarasu, 27 participants who conducted field studies with Trade and Customer Relations Manager Süleyman Erdem Demirci and Trade and Customer Relations Specialist Assistant Samet Sarı, examined the process of handling the cargo on site, vehicles used in the port learned about methods and field equipment.

At the end of the training, which attracted great attention from the logistics sector in the period of 2018-2019, FIATA diplomas to be obtained from the center of the logistics organization FIATA in Switzerland has validity in 150 countries. The courses of FIATA Diploma Education, which is held every year between October and June, are held at ITU Faculty of Business in Maçka. Participants in this vocational training, which takes place only on Saturdays, have extensive knowledge about the sector with field visits held in addition to classroom lessons.
