Level crossing opened to traffic

Afyonkarahisar Municipality has completed the works on Seyfi Demirsoy Street, which goes to Gazlıgöl Street, in front of the Alimoğlu Marble Factory, which was considered as an alternative route for drivers due to the ongoing sank output works at the Maliye Junction, but closed by TCDD on the grounds that there was no safe passage. While the works at the Maliye Crossroad, which was closed to traffic as of July 1, 2017, were continuing at full speed, alternative roads were determined in order to provide convenience to the drivers.

The level crossing leading to Gazlıgöl Street in front of the Alimoğlu Marble Factory, which is among the alternative roads causing only 3-5 minutes of delay compared to the old route, was opened to traffic. However, the level crossing, which was under the authority of the State Railways, was closed on the grounds that it was not safe. As a result of the arrangements made, the road was opened to traffic as one-way departure in the evening on Friday. The Municipality, which installed automatic barriers at the railway level crossing, also assigned four personnel to the region for 24 hours.
