Architects and activists react to the ropeway that Israel plans to build in order to consolidate its control in Jerusalem.

Israeli project managers claim that the cable car line will save the city from traffic noise and will transport the 3 thousand tourists from the west side to the historic site in East Jerusalem.

In the city where the tension is high, the projects planned by Israel attract the Palestinians.

The planned project is directly linked to the Elad Foundation, a Jewish nationalist group in the heart of the Arab neighborhoods in the old city of Jerusalem.

The final station of the planned cable car line will be integrated into the tourism center operated by the Elad Foundation.

Betty Herschman, a group of Ir Armim who supported equality in Jerusalem, says the ropeway project has set the stage for destroying possibilities for the peace process.

In recent years, Israel has been implementing projects that have responded to Palestinians. Israel is also working on a light rail train line starting at Tel Aviv and ending on the Burak Wall.
