Responding to the CHP Adana Deputy Ayhan Barut's call to “Let Adana Light Rail System be transferred to the ministry”, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turan said, “It is possible for our Ministry to take over any rail system line with the Presidential decree”.
Barut, who prepared a proposal on the Adana Light Rail System (Adana Metro), which is considered a hump on the back of Adana, with the request of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turan, said, “The first step for its construction in 1988 was launched in 1996 and Do you have a plan to take over the subway, which was partially opened in October, from Adana Metropolitan Municipality to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as in the case of Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya? Isn't it an injustice for Adana people that 2010% of Adana Metropolitan Municipality's budget goes to Metro debt every year?
