Arrangements were made around the Istanbul New Airport, which is the largest airport in the world with an annual capacity of 200 million passengers and opened today with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
It was seen that “Istanbul Airport” was written on the signs at the airport entrance for the curious name. Speaking at the opening of the airport, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the name of the new Airport is 'Istanbul Airport'.
Established on an area of 76,5 million square meters, the first phase of Istanbul Airport will serve 90 million passengers annually. The airport, which has 6 independent runways, will have a capacity of 500 aircraft when all phases are completed.
