Double Access to Gulf Transportation

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is buying two new car passenger ships to strengthen the gulf transportation and reduce the density of road traffic. In addition to 15 high-standard passenger ships, the Metropolitan Municipality, which brought the 3-car passenger ship with the Izmir Bay in the past years, will have the opportunity to travel more frequently and faster with purchases to be made after the tender process.

The tender process launched by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for 2 passenger carriages that will strengthen the gulf transportation continues. Following the evaluation of the offers and the completion of the legal processes, two new ships equipped with the latest technology will join the Izmir's sea fleet.

Both environmentally friendly and disabled friendly
The new car passenger ships that İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will add to its fleet will ensure the speed and comfort achieved in sea transportation with its superior features. The new ships will be capable of carrying 51 vehicles, 10 bicycles, 10 motorcycles and 300 passengers. Ferries with diesel electricity system compatible with the latest technological developments will be more environmentally friendly and will act with electric power. It will be equipped with propeller systems with high maneuverability and cruise speeds will be 12 knots per hour. The large windows in the closed passenger lounge will offer passengers a panoramic view of the bay. TV broadcasts and wireless internet, automatic sales kiosks where cold-hot drinks and snack foods are sold, independent pet cages, baby care tables, special toilet for disabled people, warning and direction signs written in Braille alphabet for the visually impaired, On the vehicle deck there will be special parking spaces for the vehicles of physically disabled citizens, 2 disabled elevators providing access between the vehicle deck and the passenger deck on the starboard and port sides of the ship, and a children's playground for children between 2 and 5 years old.
