The Trabzon Transit Tube Crossing Project, prepared by the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and which will contribute to the solution of the traffic problem of Trabzon, was submitted to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu said that the transportation projects that will solve the increasing traffic load of Trabzon is one of the priority issues of the city and said:

During our visit to our Chamber, we made a detailed presentation on this subject. Due to the location of Trabzon, the number of vehicles passing through the day is approaching 2 million. This situation creates an endless traffic problem in Trabzon in summer and winter. Kanuni Boulevard, which is under construction, has exhausted our state financially due to the cost of expropriation and the necessity of many viaduct passes. Similar expropriation costs are likely to arise on the planned South Ring road. Therefore, an alternative solution is needed. The Transit Tube Crossing Project has been prepared for the vehicles that will transit through the city starting from the first place where the traffic is continuous and always busy, linking to important regions. The biggest reason for preparing the project as a tube passage is to minimize expropriation costs. The project consists of 10 input and output, 10 bridges and 8 kilometer tube passages consisting of 50 parts. The expropriation area that will be needed for this project is only 160 acres with connection ways according to the studies. ”
