Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, 16 July 2018 effective from the date of public transport fees to increase the percentage of 5 decided.
Public transportation hikes were discussed in the second session of the city council, which was held under the presidency of Sırrı Aydoğan, the Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Since 16 July, the proposal for a 5 percent hike in public transportation was accepted by majority.
After the hike in Izmir, the full ticket was increased to 3 liras, the boarding fee for citizens and students aged 60-65 was 1,80 liras, and teacher ticket prices were raised to 2,50 liras.
