Çekmeköy Metro in Istanbul Opens in August

Çekmeköy Municipality renewed Cemal Güngör Park, which is used extensively by residents of Alemdağ, Ekşioğlu and Taşdelen, which are among the big parks of the district with 46 thousand square meters. The opening of the renewed park was held with a magnificent ceremony. At its opening; Çekmeköy District Governor Cemal Hüsnü Kansız, Çekmeköy Mayor Ahmet Poyraz and many citizens attended the program where famous artist Gökhan Tepe, Nurettin Bay and Ferat Şimşek took the stage.

Çekmeköy Mayor Ahmet Poyraz, who made a welcome speech at the opening, said, “We renewed our park, which is located on an area of ​​approximately 60 thousand square meters, and made it modern for you. Inside; We want all our citizens, from 7 to 70, to benefit from this park, which includes children's playgrounds, amphitheater, gymnastics areas with equipment, traverse running and walking track, masjid, toilet, rain shelters and country coffee areas. We add green to the green of our Çekmeköy. Good luck to the park we opened here today. Hopefully, we will soon bring another park to our district. We continue to construct a park with ponds in a 500-decare area in our Central District. We are also building a 50-meter observation tower in that park. I hope we will open this place into service in a month or two, ”he said.

Metro is in Çekmeköy in August
