Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has strengthened its fleet with 7.5 new buses of 25 meters that will serve in districts such as Kadifekale, Ballıkuyu, Halil Rıfat Paşa where there are steep and narrow streets. It was announced that the buses, which are all air conditioned and suitable for disabled use, are “special production for İzmir”.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its investments for environmentally friendly, comfortable and safe transportation, added another new bus to its fleet by 25. Air-conditioned, disabled-friendly buses that were purchased with an investment of 8.2 million pounds were put into service at a ceremony held at Kültürpark. 7.5 meters in length and automatic transmission feature with this tool for the first time will be used in public transportation in Izmir in Turkey, especially Halil Rıfat Paşa, streets such as Kadifekale and Ballıkuyu narrow and was reported steep hilly to serve in the district.

We build the Quarantine Pier. Our ferry services to Güzelbahçe started. We organize summer trips to Urla, Mordoğan, and Foça. We are trying to provide transportation support to tourism with these moves. There was no air conditioning in our buses and subway wagons. There were no low-floor buses at all. We quickly solved these problems. ”

In his speech, Deputy General Manager of Otokar Basri Akgün stated the following:
“İzmir is always the city of firsts. We have also produced a vehicle special for İzmir. In this segment, the city of İzmir will use the first vehicles with automatic gears. We know that İzmir gives great importance to its security. That's why our vehicles are equipped with extra braking systems. ”
