Canik Mayor Osman Genç visited TSO President Zeki Murzioğlu and members of the board of directors who were re-elected in the general meeting held recently. Congratulating President Murzioğlu and wishing success in the new period, Mayor Genç drew attention to the importance of the private sector for the growth of a city. Genç said that the dynamics of the city should give confidence to the investor in order to reach Samsun to its goals in the days when the cities are competing.
POTENTIAL IN SAMSUN
Stating that the businessmen are the development dynamo of the city, Mayor Genç said: “The more successful our businessmen and our trade, the more the city progresses. Our whole effort is to make this city we live in again the second capital of Anatolia, Istanbul. Although Samsun is not at the desired level economically today, there is more than enough to carry the city forward. I believe that when this city protects its investor and gives confidence to the investor with its dynamics, it will see much better days. ”
SAMSUN-IRAQ AND SAMSUN-BATUM RAILWAY
Stating that cities now come to the fore, Genç said: “What will attract a new investment, create a peaceful and happy city that creates employment is the city's own dynamics. Think of the city as a plane. He needs wings if the plane is going to advance. The wings of the city are transportation and trade. At this point, Samsun-Iraq Railway, which will connect Samsun to the Middle East, should be implemented. The railroad from Kurtalan district of Batman to Zaho city of Iraq should be extended. Apart from that, there should be a Fast Freight and Passenger Train Line between Samsun and Batumi. ”
INDUSTRIAL LAND INSIDE
Noting that there is a shortage of industrial land in Samsun, Mayor Genç said, “Samsun OIZ is 1 million 600 thousand square meters and is not suitable for expansion. However, Gaziantep OSB is 46 million square meters and is suitable for expansion. We need to enlarge the existing Organized Industrial Zone. No matter how good and how big the port you make, if you do not make other infrastructure works and connections that will make the port workable, your port does not matter. We should consider the Black Sea provinces as the districts of Samsun. After that, we have to look at the hinterland of this city. ”
SHOULD BE THE BRAND OF SAMSUN
Stating that the information in the university should meet with the city, Genç said, “If the information produced at the university does not contribute economically to Uncle Mehmet's bench or our trade in this city, it is not information. That is why we organize so many international symposiums and meet our scientists with our city. It should be a brand not only for Samsun, but also for Samsun. At this point, the private sector has a big task. Because a healthy economic growth is undoubtedly realized by the private sector. We are always ready to support our investors. ”
SAMSUNSPOR BOOK FOR MURZİOĞLU
Stating that they contributed to the development of Samsun as businessmen, TSO President Zeki Murzioğlu thanked President Genç for his visit. At the end of the visit, Mayor Genç presented a book of Samsunspor from Past to Present, which was published by Canik Municipality.
