Başkan Mevlüt Uysal, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, who has reacted with his statement, decided to extend the construction of Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt line which is under construction. The cost of the line which will be extended by Esenkent from Esenyurt to 2.7 km is announced as 750 million lira.

An application was made to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization on February 15, 2018 to extend the Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt line, one of the metro lines, which Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Mevlüt Uysal first canceled and then canceled. The Ministry has taken the decision “Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required” for the metro extension project. According to the project file sent to the ministry by the Transportation Planning Directorate of the IMM Directorate of Transportation, the 2.7 km Ardıçlı and Esenyurt Square stops previously announced on the Mahmutbey - Bahçeşehir - Esenyurt line have been officially added. The cost of the two stops was calculated as 750 million liras.

There were 2015 stops in 9

In the project file, it was reminded that in 2015, the EIA is not required for the first 18,6 stops of the 9 km Mahmutbey - Bahçeşehir - Esenyurt metro line, between Mahmutbey - Esenkent stations. It was stated that the application was made again to the ministry for the Ardıçlı and Esenyurt Meydan stations added to the project. It was noted that the extension line will consist of 2,7 km parallel arrival and departure tunnels. The extension line, which started from the Esenkent Station, which is the last point of the first 9 stations, where the decision of “EIA Not Required” was taken before, will reach the 24,20th station, Ardıçlı station, which is 26 meters deep. From here, you will arrive at Esenyurt Square Station, the last station at a depth of 10 m.

POPULATION INCREASED, 2 STATION ADDED MORE

In the project file, it was pointed out that Esenyurt is a developing district in recent years and said, “Especially in the last 10 years, its population has increased from 373 thousand to 846 thousand. As a result of the rapid development of the population in this region, intense traffic problem occurred in the region. As a solution to this problem, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality aimed to solve the transportation problem of this region by adding two stations to the Mahmutbey - Bahçeşehir - Esenyurt rail transit system, which it had planned before. ”

INTEGRATED WITH AIRPORT METRO

According to the information in the project file, the line is aimed to be completed in 4 years. 18,6 km Mahmutbey - Bahçeşehir - Esenyurt line; At the Mahmutbey station, with Kirazlı - Başakşehir - Olimpiyatköy metro, at the Mehmet Akif Station via the Ataköy - İkitelli Metro line, and at the Temapark station Halkalı-Arnavutköy-3. Airport will be integrated with the metro project.

11 STATION WILL BE

The beginning of the metro line that is planned to serve in Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece, Avcılar Başakşehir and Esenyurt districts, Kabataş – Mahmutbey Station, which is under construction of the Mahmutbey metro. From here, it will pass through Regional Park, Mehmet Akif, Mass Housing, Tema, Hospital, Tahtakale, Ispartakule, Bahçeşehir, Esenkent, Ardıçlı and end at Esenyurt Meydan Station. There are 11 stations on this route, one of which is planned in the other project.
