Minister Arslan's 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day Message

April 23, 1920 is the epitome of the resurrection, shaking and personification of the Turkish nation in a vital period when all parts of the country are occupied and the nation is on the verge of extinction. Consisting of representatives of the National Turkey will be opened today by the Grand National Assembly; The beginning of the path that leads to salvation and victory of our struggle, and has been heralded as the Republic of Turkey.

In 1929, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk presented 23 April as a holiday to the children, and it is known that this holiday is the first children's holiday in the world.

The most valuable asset of our nation is our children, representatives of peace, love, hope and fraternity, and the security of our bright tomorrow. The nation, on this happy day receiving sovereignty into their own hands, all our children and our youth, secular, democratic and social state of law and the peace of which we are proud of seeing will come out with the Republic of Turkey. Country and nation is an indivisible whole with the Republic of Turkey, with their conscious effort that, among the world states, is an outstanding location will be deserved.

On this occasion, I congratulate the 23th anniversary of April 98, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, and wish all our children and citizens a peace.

Ahmet Arslan
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications
