In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of GAZİRAY, which will provide suburban service in the comfort of metro to Gaziantep, Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication, stated that Gaziantep, which exports to 180 countries, adds value to the country's economy.

This should also meet the ports. We deliver it to ports by rail, divided roads and highways. When we do this, the economy of the city will grow even more. The people of Gaziantep are very concerned, meeting at a short distance to the sea. There was a request from Iskenderun Port for the construction of Hassa Tunnel in a short time. We put this project in the investment program. 30 kilometers of the 20 kilometers road will be a tunnel. ”
Touching on 12 major road projects in Gaziantep, Arslan said, “We will make the Cemetery Bridge Interchange wide, comfortable. 45 million lira Yeşilvadi-TOKİ Junction will be built. We started this 46-kilometer road works this month in Musabeyli-Kilis, it will be finished in 2 years. Gaziantep-Oğuzeli-Karkamış road ends next year. The supply tender for the Narlı-Karkamış road is being held. Gaziantep-Nizip-Birecik road works have started. Nurdağı-Osmaniye road is ending. " said.
Arslan pointed out that the projects on transportation are not finished, and gave the good news that flights will be arranged from Gaziantep to Cologne, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Stuttgart as of June and a modern 6-bellows terminal will be built at the airport. GAZİRAY Project
In the scope of the project aiming to create sufficient traffic capacity for high speed train, conventional train and suburban operation, the signaled and electric new demi path will be built between Başpınar-Gaziantep-Oduncular.
Within the scope of the project 2 suburban line and 2 high-speed line, including the 25,5 kilometer route, 112 kilometers in the new railway will be made in total.
Gaziantep station will be transformed into a transfer center by integrating with urban transportation. GAZİRAY, which will decrease the travel time between Başpınar and Oduncular to 30 minutes, will serve 5 thousand passengers daily with trains run every minute.
