Büyükçekmece Coast-TÜYAP Ropeway Project

One of the cable car projects of Kadir Topbaş, the former IMM President who is on the agenda of Istanbul for many years, is coming to life. The tender for the cable car line between Büyükçekmece Beach and TÜYAP was completed.

SözcüAccording to the report of Özlem GÜVEMLİ from, the button was pressed for Büyükçekmece Coast-TÜYAP cable car line, one of the 10 cable car projects developed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to find a solution to the traffic of Istanbul. The “Service Procurement” tender was held on March 6, 2018 by Metro Istanbul A.Ş. 112 bids were submitted to the tender, the estimated price of which was 500 liras. Ankara-based company Ser-Se Teleferik Lokantacılık Gıda İnşaat Turizm Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi won the tender with a bid of 3 thousand liras. The contract was signed with the company on March 80, 12. Ser-Se Teleferik has previously drawn Pierre Loti, Rumelihisarı, Boğaziçi and Çamlıca cable car projects in Istanbul.


Büyükçekmece Sahil-TÜYAP cable car line will consist of 2,5 kilometers and 2 stations. When the line is completed, the distance between Büyükçekmece and Tüyap will decrease to 8 minutes. The Büyükçekmece Coast-TÜYAP line, one of the ropeway projects belonging to the IMM, was announced as the “good news” to the people of Büyükçekmece during the 16 April referendum activities by the former Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş. Topbaş, stating that they had a 2.5 km cable car from Büyükçekmece coast to TÜYAP last March, said, “You will come down to the beach with a metrobus or subway, and you will immediately go down to the house by cable car. The projects of these studies are finished, we are now entering the tender stages. ”


One of the 10 ropeway projects was planned to carry passengers to the mosque built by President Erdoğan in Çamlıca. The 10 kilometer Mecidiyeköy-Çamlıca cable car project was canceled by the IMM Assembly in 2016. Other planned ropeway projects were as follows: ap Eyüp-Miniatürk, Miniatürk-Alibeyköy, Rumelihisarüstü-Aşiyan, Sultanbeyli-Karlıtepe, Kayışdağı, D-100-Aydos, Adalar-Lunapark, Kınalıada and Büyükçekmece-TÜYAP.
