İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will bring the Şirinyer Park in the center of Buca, one of the biggest districts of the city, to a view that adorns the dreams of the local people. The site was delivered for the application project of the 69-decare area, which will be saved from dense construction. The park will also include underground parking and an open-air cinema.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality delivered a space for the application project to the contractor company in order to transform Şirinyer Park, which has become a chaotic area due to the scattered structures on it, into one of the most qualified areas of the city. Having reconsidered the park on 69 decares in the center of Buca, the Metropolitan Municipality will both reproduce and protect the existing green texture and make the park a “meeting point” by opening it to pedestrian access from all directions. Within the scope of the project, all the scattered and dispersed structures in the park area will be removed. Cultural center, social center and marketplace projects to be implemented will bring more qualified, modern and ecological structures to the region.
Within the scope of the project, a platform will be created that connects the two sides of the area by taking advantage of the elevation difference between Menderes Avenue and Cemil Şeboy Avenue. The idea of a raised park will also be the main backbone of the project. The existing functions will be redesigned around this spine to provide integrity with a reinforced green texture that "wraps around the platform". With the pedestrian axes to be opened in the east-west direction, there will be safe and comfortable access to public transportation points around the clock.
Right in the middle of life
Şirinyer Park will be connected to Forbes Street with both running and walking and cycling tracks. A cultural center, social center and semi-open marketplace will be established in connection with the platform to be created within the park.
The Cultural Center will consist of two multi-purpose halls, exhibition areas, foyers, neighborhood clubs and service venues. The open-air cinema culture from Şirinyer's memory will be relieved as an amphitheater.
The Social Center will consist of a women's and children's activity center, a disabled activity center, a head office and a cafeteria.
The semi-open marketplace projected in the project is designed to be available for use every day of the week and to respond to flexible public use, rather than moving the current market to a different area. Within this scope, the user will be provided with many different levels in the marketplace to be established. For the marketers, service entrance and loading points will be formed from the parking lot and ground level.
Also within the scope of the project; In accordance with the capacities determined by the relevant regulations, an “underground parking lot” will be established in the region where there is no tree on the west wing.
More trees
The determination and reporting works for the protection, development and sustainability of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the land cypress, iron tree, pistachio pine and palm-dominated green tissue were also completed. Accordingly, the areas that are not parked in Şirinyer Park, which will be cleaned from existing structures and the tree texture will be preserved, will also be transformed into a park and recreation area; the highest level of afforestation will be carried out. Hard floors will be kept to a minimum with natural floor materials.
Transfer station for public transportation
A transit station was also considered within the scope of the project, as both the rail system and the rubber wheel are at the meeting point of public transportation. Three. Water wells and protection zones esinde in the area, which are the future water reserves of Buca, will be protected in accordance with the regulations without any construction in the approach distances.
