70 Minute Road to Dolmabahçe Levazım Tunnel

The works in the Dolmabahçe-Levazım Tunnel, the construction of which has been started by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, are gaining momentum. Thanks to the tunnel that will ease the traffic in Beşiktaş and its region, which is one of the important points of Istanbul traffic, the 70-minute road will decrease to 5 minutes.

With the Dolmabahçe - Levazım Tunnel, one of the important projects of Istanbul road transportation, Taksim, Kabataş and vehicles coming from Kağıthane direction will be able to reach Zincirlikuyu, Levent, Etiler and Ortaköy without interruption. Thus, the journey time, which takes 70 minutes between Dolmabahçe and Levazım, will decrease to 5 minutes. The tunnel will start from Piyalepaşa-Dolmabahçe Tunnel exit and end in Ortaköy Valley.

Dolmabahçe Quarry Tunnel Project, which will significantly ease traffic, is carried out with the decision of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization Regional Commission on Conservation of Natural Assets No. 4 and the approval of Istanbul Region Cultural Heritage Preservation Board.

When the tunnel project is completed; Taksim and Kabataş The vehicles coming from the direction will be able to reach Zincirlikuyu-Ortaköy without interruption without going into Beşiktaş Square, Çırağan Avenue, Yıldız Yokuşu and Esentepe traffic. In this way, it is aimed to significantly relax the traffic in Beşiktaş and its region. The total length of the tunnel, which will be built as two tubes, will be 7.800 meters.

GREEN AREA WILL BE PROTECTED IN WORKS

Green area sensitivity will be observed at each stage of the tunnel work to be carried out in stages. The work will start first in the section at the entrance of Maçka Park. Within the scope of the works that will start in only 140 m2 section of Maçka Park, the total size of which is 3.500 thousand m2; 85 trees in the area will be planted in Bahçeköy Mehmet Akif Ersoy Nature Park in accordance with the report received from Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry. Trees, which will be dismantled by the ROOTBALL method under the management of expert teams, will be carefully planted in their new places by protecting their roots and stems. Outside the park, 91 trees will be transferred to other regions. After the works, the region will be reforested. When the works are completed, an area of ​​3 m500 will be greened again and restored.

TRAFFIC WILL BE PROVIDED FROM ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Within the scope of the activities at the entrance of Maçka Park; The part of Bayildim Avenue, from the entrance of Kadirgalar Street to Swiss Hotel, will be closed to vehicle traffic. The vehicles that will go to the Maçka and Nişantaşı regions from Kadırgalar Caddesi will continue in the direction of Harbiye and reach the Maçka and Nişantaşı regions from Mim Kemal Öke Street. Taksim from Süleyman Seba Street Kabataş and the vehicles going to Karaköy direction, by using the open part of Bayıldım Caddesi; Acısu Sokak, Prof. Dr. Using Alaeddin Yavaşça Sokak and Vişneli Tekke Street, they will be able to reach their desired direction through Dolmabahçe and Kadırgalar Streets. Before the tunnel works, the Public Relations Directorate distributed information notes to citizens who exercise in the park and citizens living in the region.
