Topbaş's Canceled Metro Tenders Will Spend 3.3 Billion TL

The new appropriation was allocated to the canceled metro projects of Kadir Topbaş, the former head of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. 6 metro line will be paid 3.3 billion TL.

SözcüAccording to the report of Erdogan Suzer from Istanbul, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality allocated 6 billion 3 million TL for the construction of 323 metro lines that it canceled in order to make it more economical. 2 billion 797 million TL of this appropriation will be covered by a loan from abroad, while the remaining 526 million TL will be paid from the municipality's budget.

3 billion 19 million TL of the resource will be used in metro construction investments and 304 million TL will be used in the purchase of metro vehicles to be used in these lines. He revealed that an enormous amount of resources exceeding 2018 billion TL would be transferred. The highest amount to be transferred to 6 subways, which will be covered entirely from the budget of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, fell to Ümraniye-Ataşehir-Göztepe subway line with 2018 billion 3.3 million TL.


According to the investment program, the Kaynarca-Pendik-Tuzla metro line will also receive the second highest allowance from the resource allocated this year, at 858 million TL. Within the scope of the program, 735 million TL to Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli metro line, 270 million TL to Mahmutbey-Başakşehir metro line, Kirazlı-Halkalı 128 million TL for metro line and 108 million TL appropriation for Başakşehir-Kayaşehir metro line.

It was also stated that IMM has decided to make an external borrowing of 925 million Euros for the financing of all metro lines. Since the tenders of the 6 metro lines have been canceled, all the 3.3 billion Turkish lira allocated for this year will be spent by new companies that will win the auctions.


İBB is out of these lines whose tenders are canceled Kabataş- It will transfer 989 million lira to the Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey metro line, 494 million lira to the Ataköy-İkitelli metro line, and 143 million lira to the construction investments of the Üsküdar-Altunizade-Ümraniye-Dudullu line until the end of this year. In addition, this year allocated 147 million TL for the purchase of metro vehicles to be used in the Yenikapı-İncirli-Sefaköy metro line. On the other hand, no investments will be made for the Vezneciler-Arnavutköy, Vezneciler-Sultangazi and Sultangazi-Arnavutköy metro lines, whose projects will be launched this year.
