National Energy Efficiency Action Plan Accepted

The National Energy Efficiency Action Plan was adopted. 9 pieces action plan was created under the heading of transportation. Energy-efficient cars offer tax advantages and arrangements for public transport.

Energy and Natural Resources, prepared by the Ministry for National Energy Efficiency Improving energy efficiency in Turkey and the continued sustainability of the Action Plan (2017-2023) was adopted. The National Energy Efficiency Action Plan includes targets planned for transportation, construction, civil society organizations, agriculture, industry and technology.

The plan, which covers the process of 2023 until today, has striking titles about transportation. Turkey In the 2015 percent of final energy consumption according to data from the year 25 took place in the transport sector. The 91 of this energy is composed of almost all oil consumption. We cover a large part of our oil demand through imports. As a result of increasing energy efficiency in transportation, our country's external dependence on oil will be reduced.

In this context, a number of actions have been identified to increase the efficiency of transportation and these actions are aimed to be realized until 2023. According to the plans of the Transport and Communication Strategy on the 2023 15 percent of the gentlemen in the year Turkey's share in rail freight and passenger transport has aimed to raise over 10 percent. If the said increase is realized, it is planned that 2023 will share 60 and the share of passenger transportation in 72 by XNUMX.

In addition to the generalization of rail transportation, it is aimed to prevent fuel consumption in urban transportation, to reduce harmful emissions to the environment and to reduce fossil fuel consumption. In order to ensure sustainability and promote energy efficiency, the 9 action plan for the transport sector was prepared.

The nine action plans included in the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan are as follows:
Tax advantage for vehicles with high energy efficiency

In order to encourage energy efficiency tools, SCTs and various tax reductions will be applied to the vehicles.

Energy efficiency, energy efficiency, low emission level, environmentally friendly, small engine volume, fuel cell, electric and hybrid vehicles will be taxed according to energy efficiency. Additional tax deductions will be applied to the applicable tax deductions for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Infrastructure will be developed for differentiated taxation according to fuel consumption and emission values of vehicles. A database will be created to record the emission data of all vehicles launched on the market. Standards for charging station installation will be arranged.
Comparison of alternative fuels and new technologies

A benchmarking study will be carried out to determine the advantage of vehicles with new technology using alternative fuel compared to fossil fuel vehicles. Information about the factors such as fuel consumption, maintenance services, repair fees, tax fees, etc. will be discussed and information will be presented to the citizens.

Extension of bicycle and pedestrian transportation

New actions will be implemented to disseminate zero-emission transport. Bicycles and pedestrian roads will be built in cities. The city centers will be closed for use in motor vehicles, and will be opened for bicycle and pedestrian use. Integration of pedestrian or bicycle paths to the highway, sea and rail transport will be provided.

Reduction of car use

In order to reduce the traffic density in the city center, measures will be taken to limit the entry of cars into the city centers. The number of parking spaces will be increased. For the integration of the cars in public transportation systems, the “Park and continue asyon application will be expanded.

Dissemination of public transport

National and international financial support will be used to increase and strengthen the public transport network. Different types of transport will be integrated. The use of environmentally friendly vehicles will become widespread. Service quality and safety will be increased in public transport.

Urban transportation planning units

Urban Transportation Planning Units will be established in order to provide transportation problems to municipalities. These units will be financially supported.

Strengthening maritime transport

The use of maritime transport in freight, passenger and vehicle transport will be encouraged. New ports will be built with Build-Operate-Transfer model. Green port applications will be encouraged, modern port techniques will be applied.

Strengthening railway transportation

By expanding the railway network, most of the road transport will be shifted to rail transportation. High-speed rail projects will be implemented. Standards will be raised in existing rail networks. Rail routes will be connected to ports and production centers.

Data collection for transport

A database will be created to collect, compare and evaluate information on transport.
