ABB presents newest member of YuMi family

Following the success of the world's first man-made robot-based dual-robotic industry robot YuMi®, ​​ABB unveils a one-arm co-operative robot that combines industry-leading capabilities with a much smaller footprint
ABB promoted its latest human collaboration-based robot, which it developed as a single arm, at the Tokyo 2017 International Robotics Exhibition (iREX). As the name suggests, collaboration robots are designed to work with people in the manufacturing environment to increase productivity and support the transition to customer-centric production. The launch of the robot will officially take place in 2018.

The new robot, like YuMi, which was launched in 2015 for assembly of small parts, increases its productivity by easily integrating it into existing assembly lines with its 500 gram load capacity and compact structure. The new robot can also be programmed without the need for special training for operators, with a directing teaching mode feature.
