High-speed trains are being made to those cities too! There is no van again…

Eastern Turkey has in recent years suffered from the beginning of the two major cities of more fast train attacks in many cities. Van is still not on the calendar ...

Turkey in the last 10 years important steps were taken in the field of transportation. While investments in both road and railways were not interrupted, serious progress was made, especially in high-speed trains. In this sense, while the distances between cities connected to each other with new networks shortened significantly, Kars was the last to get its share from these investments.

Kars, which is connected to the west by the Kars-Sivas-Ankara high-speed train line, received a share from the high-speed train investment, while Van's demands such as the Northern Vangolu Railway line were frequently expressed. At this point, while Van was waiting to connect to the west by high-speed train, new good news was given for the intercity. Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan said that the high-speed train project agreement between Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa will be signed in January 2018.

THEY ARE CONNECTING!

Stating that efforts are underway for Şanlıurfa to meet high-speed trains and to be included in international corridors, Minister Arslan continued as follows: “Our first goal was to bring the high-speed train project from Istanbul to Gaziantepe, to Şanlıurfa. The distance between Sanliurfa and Gaziantep is 150 kilometers. We had a tender for the final railway projects in July and received preliminary bids. We will have received technical and financial offers on the 20th of this month. I hope we will finish and sign the contract in January. Thus, we will launch the Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa project. Within the project, we will also work on the construction of a logistics center at the Mürşitpınar Border Gate. We made the pre-qualification tender for the high-speed train project between Şanlıurfa and Mardin about 10 ago and received the offers. Their investigation continues. Again, in order to connect the industry of Şanlıurfa to Diyarbakır, we will have final project tenders in the next year, on the 170-kilometer line.

TRAMVAY EXPECTED AT THE EXPECTATION!

On the other hand, in Van, where the expectation for the tram continues, the people frequently repeat their demands at the point of establishing a tram in the city. While Van's expectation at this point was still unfulfilled, Diyarbakır was finally given good news for the tram project and studies were initiated for the start of 2018.
