Kardemir completed the tender of two new environmental investments and determined the contractor firm. With the decision taken at the meeting of Kardemir Board of Directors dated 26.12.2017, the tender of “Blast Furnaces Dedusting Systems and Coal Crusher Department Dedusting System” has been completed.
In the statement made by KARDEMİR, TERMO Makine San. ve Tic. Inc. As a result of the negotiations made with the officials at the Kardemir Purchasing Department, a technical and commercial agreement was reached between the parties. While the General Manager Ercüment ÜNAL signed the protocol prepared after the agreement on behalf of our Company, the contractor TERMO Makine San.ve Tic. Inc. on behalf of the company General Manager Mahir BAYTÜRE signed the protocol.
The General Manager of our company Ercüment ÜNAL said in his statement that the tender made would be beneficial for both parties and Karabük. In his statement Ünal gave the following opinions:
“As is known, we have made commitments to our Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and our Municipality about the environmental investments in the past weeks. We stated that environmental investments will be completed. We also provided information about our environmental investments to be made to our Deputy Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Mr. Mehmet Ceylan, and submitted our Environmental Progress Report to the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization of the Governorship of Karabük.
In line with the authority of our Board of Directors, which was gathered on the previous day, we have completed the tender of one of our most important environmental investments and determined the contractor firm.
We awarded the Blast Furnaces Area Dedusting Systems to TERMO Makine. The company will begin the investment process quickly. This investment will be completed by the end of 2018. I wish it good for both parties and for our Karabuk. In addition, we have concluded the tender for the Coal Crusher Unit Dedusting System. This environmental investment has been tendered to Enveks Marketing and Dust Reduction Systems Company.
Again, the General Directorate of Sintered 1-2 and 3 Machines has been authorized for the flue gas desulphurisation plants in our Board of Directors.
In addition, we continue our environmental investments in the “Çelikhane Converter and Mining Pits Dust Collection System”, which we announced to the public in June and the contractor firm, ALFER Engineering, established the Tender Plant for Dust Collection and Dedusting Systems at various locations in October.
As it is known, the Lime Factory Dedusting System, which is among our environmental investment commitments, was completed and commissioned in June this year, and the Maintenance of the ESPs of the Sinter 1 and Sinter 2 Machines and the Renewal of the Central Waste Water Treatment Facility Online Station were also completed.
In our company, the investments for the concrete constructions of the main route within the factory site are still continuing in order to reduce the particulate matter concentration through the Biological Treatment Plant Improvement, Crushing and Screening Plants Dust Collection Systems.
