The tender for the Three-Storey Grand Istanbul Tunnel Project has come to an end

Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan stated that the soundings of the seabed were carried out within the scope of the Three-Storey Grand Istanbul Tunnel Project, which started survey studies, “At the end of this year, the project will be completed and the construction tender will be held with the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model in 2018.” said.

In his statement, Arslan said that the citizens enjoy the convenience of the rail system with Marmaray and the pleasure of passing under the sea with the Eurasia Tunnel.

Indicating that the comfort of the transition between the two continents to be reduced to 5 minutes, Arslan stated that they will realize the Three-storey Big Istanbul Train Project that will bring the Marmaray and the Eurasia Tunnel together as a result of the technical studies conducted in line with the demands of the citizens.

Arslan stated that the sea bottom drillings were done within the scope of the study project and that the project works will be completed at the end of this year.

Arslan underlined that 2018 will be awarded with BOT model construction tender, said:

“The rail system that will go underground from İncirli will pass under the sea from Mecidiyeköy, Zincirlikuyu, enter Söğütlüçeşme. Kadıköy-It will be attached to Eagle, Marmaray. The tunnel, which will enter the underground from Hasdal on the European side, will merge with this tunnel in the same way, and after passing the Anatolian side, it will be connected to TEM by leaving Çamlık. This will be an important advantage for cars in road transport, a far more important advantage in terms of rail system. Marmaray, Halkalıgoes from Gebze to Gebze, integrated with all rail systems. This will be integrated with many rail systems from İncirli to Söğütlüçeşme, similar to it, and will integrate rail systems that carry 6,5 million passengers a day. It means that people can continue their journey with the rail system by transferring to another line when they leave the door. We have covered a very important project and a significant distance. We will carry out the tender and initiate the construction processes next year. ”
