Preparing for a Strike on the London Underground

London Underground workers are preparing for a 5-hour strike today and on October 24th.

The strike of the members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers 'Union (Rail, Maritime and Transport - RMT) and the Train Engineers' Union (Aslef) demanding improvement of working conditions will also affect the fans who will go to Wembley to watch the World Cup match England will play with Slovenia.

London public transport management (TfL) warned passengers that other transportation alternatives, such as above-ground trains and buses, will be busy due to the strike, while fans will organize additional bus services to get to the Wembley stadium.

During the 1.5 year-long collective bargaining negotiations between trade unions and local government, negotiations focus on working conditions and wages.
