Response to Tram Criticism from Mayor Kocaoğlu

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu emphasized that it is becoming more difficult to come to the city centers with a special vehicle in big cities and the solution of this is to direct people to mass transportation. Consider what the city will become with more than 1000 buses going into traffic. Tender preparations of Narlıdere Metro have been completed. Buca Metro is waiting for approval at the Ministry of Development. We plan to lay the foundation in 2018. Our rail system network is 178 kilometers this year. 21 km. We will have found 200 kilometers with Buca Metro. There are many subway and tram suggestions in the Transportation Master Plan. By preparing their projects, we are really trying to weave the city with iron nets and transfer most of the transportation from above and below the ground to the rail system. ”
