Toward the 100th anniversary of the Republic, many giant projects taking place in Turkey's project inventory. While some of them are completed and put into operation, some of them continue their activities.

Turkey confusion when dealing with almost the ring of fire in one hand and terrorist organizations inside the border in a region, which prepares the other hand, the Republic of the 100th anniversary of the giant $ 200 billion in projects dealing with the occasional glitch continues.

Towards the Republic's 100th year, Turkey's stock in the project; Marmaray, Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train, Izmit Bay Crossing Bridge, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge connecting the European and Asian continent for the third time in the Bosphorus, Canal Istanbul, Nuclear Power Plant, 3rd Airport to Istanbul, Istanbul-Izmir Highway, Kars There are many giant projects that will connect the industry, trade and tourism regions of the country to each other and the world through the main lines such as the Baku-Tbilisi railway line, the 3-storey Grand Istanbul Tunnel Project, and Istanbul-Ankara İzmir. While some of them have been completed and started to operate, some of them continue their activities.

3rd bridge on the Bosphorus

Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which brings together the two longest sides of the Bosphorus for the third time with its rail system, was opened on 3 August 26, 2016 years after its foundation was laid. The 3-lane highway and the double-lane train track will pass over the bridge, which was built by a team of Turkish engineers in as little as 8 years. Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge has also signed many firsts worldwide. The bridge, which has a total length of 1.875 meters, is the widest of the world with its width of 59 meters, and is the longest suspension bridge with the highest tower in the world with its main span of 1408 meters on the sea, and the tallest tower in the world with its height exceeding 320 meters. The total cost of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge will reach 350 billion liras with the 4.5 km North Marmara Motorway.

First stage started in Marmaray

The first phase of Marmaray, which is a 76 km railway improvement and development project that connects the railway lines on the European and Asian sides with a tube tunnel under the Bosphorus, entered service on October 90, 29, the 2013th anniversary of the Republic. On the Asian side of Marmaray Kadıköy and the first line of which is 1.4 kilometers underground, 5.5 kilometers under the sea between Zeytinburnu districts on the European side, is 14 kilometers long. With the introduction of new lines under construction, the total length of the project will increase to 76.3 kilometers. When all stages are completed, Marmaray, which is the main backbone of Istanbul transportation, is expected to carry 1 million passengers daily. Airport with a capacity of 150 million passengers. The 3rd Airport, which is being constructed on the Black Sea coast in the European side of Istanbul, will reach the capacity of 150 million passengers when all stages are completed. As such, the airport will be the largest airport in the world, leaving Atlanta International Airport, which still serves 90 million passengers a year.

When the first phase of the airport is completed in 2018 as envisaged, it will catch the 90 million passenger capacity. When all stages of the project are completed, it will have an indoor area of approximately 1.5 million square meters and 165 passenger bridges. There will be 4 separate terminal buildings, 3 technical blocks and 8 air traffic control towers at the airport, among which transportation will be carried out by the rail system. Within the scope of the project, there will be 6 detached runways, 16 taxiways, 500 aircraft parking capacity apron with a total size of 6.5 million square meters and many auxiliary facilities suitable for the operation of all types of aircraft. The Turkish companies are the project; Cengiz, Mapa, Limak, Kolin, Kalyon Joint Venture Group won with a bid of 22 billion 152 million Euros. This offer also has the highest tender price in the history of the Republic. At the airport, where 100 thousand people will be employed during the construction, the average annual number of employees is planned as 120 thousand.

The highway will pass through the Bosphorus: Eurasian Tunnel

The Eurasia Tunnel, which will connect the Asian and European continents with a highway under the sea floor, is approaching the end. The tube crossing passing 300 meters south of Marmaray will reduce the distance between the two sides of Istanbul, where traffic is increasingly torture, from an average of 100 minutes to 15 minutes. The Eurasia Tunnel, which is technically one of the leading engineering projects in the world, realizes Yapı Merkezi and its partner South Korean engineering firm SK Engineering with the build-operate-transfer model. The total cost of the project is $ 1.3 billion.

Three-storey mega tunnel under the sea: Grand Istanbul Tunnel

In the three-storey Great Istanbul Tunnel Project, which will be built 110 meters below the Bosphorus, 6.5 kilometers long, 2 highways and 1 metro road will pass under the Bosphorus. The project will connect 9 rail systems in Istanbul. Three suspension bridges on the Bosphorus will be connected to each other as a ring. The highway crossing that will need the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and the metro pass that will complement the Bosphorus Bridge will provide integrity with a single line and 3-story project. The daily passenger capacity of the 3-storey mixed tunnel project, which is also planned to be connected to the third airport on the European side of Istanbul and Sabiha Gökçen Airport and the Istanbul Finance Center on the Asian side, is expected to be 6.5 million people.

Çanakkale Strait Bridge will be the longest in the world

The longest bridge in the world in terms of clearance between the towers will be built on the Dardanelles. The bridge is planned to enter service by 2023. The Çanakkale Bosphorus Bridge, which is planned to be constructed between Lapseki (Anatolia) -Gelibolu (Thrace), will be the longest suspension bridge in the world by taking the title of the Akashio Bridge in Japan with its 2.023-meter middle span, a total length of 3.623 meters. The tender announcement of the project, which is planned to cross the railway line, was published in the Official Gazette on October 26. In the tender, the total price of which is not certain, the temporary guarantee was determined as high as 100 million liras. The tender will be held in January 2017.

4 of the world. large suspension bridge opened to service

Istanbul-Izmir between the 3 hour to the 433 km-long Istanbul-Izmir highway is coming to an end. The 3 2, which started operations 2.682 years ago, was completed and commissioned 36 years ago. The world's fourth largest suspension bridge, the 3 meter-long and 3 meter-wide bridge, includes 6 lanes, including 9 departures and 2018 arrivals. The total cost of the project including the bridge 70 billion dollars. The project is expected to be completed by 60 including motorways. In the absence of traffic, the 6 minutes and the Izmit Gulf transit time, which is about XNUMX minutes by ferry, were reduced to an average of XNUMX minutes over the new bridge.

The dream of the year was completed in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project is considered as the third largest project realized by all three countries after the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum projects. The project, the beginning of which is very old, has been completed and will be operational in 2017. With the launch of the Bosphorus Tube Crossing (Marmaray) project and the BTK project under construction, as well as the construction of other railway projects supporting these projects; From Asia to Europe, a significant portion of the load that can be transported in large volumes from Europe to Asia will remain in Turkey, so Turkey in the long term be able to obtain billions of dollars in transportation revenue. It is estimated that there will be 1 million passengers and 6.5 million tons of load carrying capacity together with the commissioning of the line, and in the medium term there will be 3 million passengers and 17 million cargo carrying capacity on the project line. The foundations of the crazy project are being laid in 2018 With the Kanalİstanbul project, which is projected to be 43 kilometers long, 400 meters wide and 25 meters deep, the ship traffic threatening life and cultural assets in the Bosphorus will be minimized, and the environmental pollution created by the ships moored in Marmara to cross the Bosphorus will be eliminated. will get up. It was expected that the foundation will be laid in 2018 in “Kanalİstanbul”, which was defined as 'crazy project' when it was first announced.
