DHMI started its plans for the future of Atatürk Airport, which is expected to be used for general aviation activities with the launch of Istanbul New Airport.
While the works for Istanbul New Airport (IYH), which is still under construction and 68 percent of which is completed in Istanbul, continue at full speed, the State Airports Authority has also begun to make preparations for the closing of Atatürk Airport.
According to the news of Gökhan Artan from Habertürk News Center, DHMI will tend to report and evaluate the possible loss of profit in the event that the Atatürk Airport lease agreement is terminated earlier.
With the opening of Istanbul New Airport, DHMI started its plans for the future of Ataturk Airport, which is expected to be used for general aviation activities.
OPENING OF THE NEW AIRPORT ON 29 OCTOBER 2018 IS PLANNED
For this purpose, DHMI will tender the report and the evaluation of the determination of the possible loss of profit in case of early termination of the lease agreement for the delivery of the operating rights of the Atatürk Airport Domestic and International Terminals as well as the car park and general aviation terminal.
The duration of the tender to be held on 21 December is determined as 18 months from the date of commencement of work. While the operating period of Atatürk Airport, which is operated by TAV, ends on January 3, 2021, Istanbul New Airport is planned to open on October 29, 2018.
